Potential Flood Risk in the City of Guasave, Sinaloa, the Effects of Population Growth, and Modifications to the Topographic Relief
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The English language is very poor and must be improved.
The whole abstract must be modified as it gives no information on the methods and the results of the study.
The article lacks novelty. In the article the study area is described as well as the growth of population and topography of the studied area. There is some relation of population growth on time described. Flood risk is studied.
I am really confused, what the aim of the article was because only data on population growth, topography and flood are presented as statistical data but there are no particular results, aims or novelty.

- The English language was checked by a professional English editor.
- The abstract has been modified, indicating the method and results obtained.
- The method used to determine the potential risk of a flood is the hydrogeological method, which relates the height of the water level produced by historical floods with the current topographical relief of the study area, thus obtaining the potential areas to flooding and, considering (superimposing) the urban sprawl, the potential risk of flooding is obtained.
- The importance of this research is in the results obtained in figure 7, in which the potential risk of flooding is obtained considering extraordinary rainfall in the years 1982, 1990, 1998 and 2018
