Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The English grammar and sentence structure still needs to be improved. there are missing words, incorrect tenses, and incomplete sentences throughout.

Author Response

[We appreciated the editor and reviewers for the constructive comments. We have addressed the comments with a thorough editing throughout the manuscript. The manuscript has been completely checked by the senior author, Xiaofeng Xu, who is a faculty member at San Diego State University, an associate editor of Global Ecology and Biogeography, and has been writing in English for more than 20 years and teaching in English for more than 5 years.]

Reviewer 2 Report

It is good to see a good make over of the manuscript. I will request the authors to kindly reconsider having drawn Figure 1.

I consider the revised version needs high resolution figures before it can be considered for publishing as lot of text and color codes on figures is hazy.

Author Response

[We appreciated this second round of reviews; we have addressed the comments with a thorough editing throughout the manuscript. We also updated all five figures to make sure they are in high quality and in consistent for labels and coordinates.]
