Flocculation Patterns Related to Intra-Annual Hydrodynamics Variability in the Lower Grijalva-Usumacinta System
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Using the data of field measurement and laboratory experiment, the authors related the flocculation to hydrodynamics and suspended sediment concentration, and they also connected the particulate phosphorous and organic fraction with the flocculation. The results are reasonable and significant. The paper is recommended to be acceptable after a careful language editing.
Detailed comments:
55-72: The words in these lines seem to be a part of method section.
Figure 1: Where are the sampling sites?
189: A unit is needed in “1.20 in height”.
226: Give the full name of FCB.
474: The to before then is not necessary.
670: The sentence needs the word is before consistent.
719: Change whit to with.
References should be in a consistent format.

Reviewer 2 Report
Thank you for the opportunity to review your manuscript titled “Flocculation Patterns related to Intra-Annual Hydrodynamics Variability in the lower Grijalva-Usumacinta System”, submitted to water for review.
The authors introduced and explained their study area and research purpose very well, and expanded that approach with data collection, processing, results presentation and discussion. This reviewer did not notice any major issues with the work, and as a result, could happily suggest this manuscript to the editor for publication.
In the meantime, I noticed a few minor points that I’d like to share with you here:
1. The term 'estuarine-type conditions', which is used in the abstract, is not found the same in the main body of the manuscript.
2. Please introduce TP in line 115 on page 4, rather than 143.
3. In the caption for Figure 4, should RS be changed to RF?
4. For Figure 6, panels c and f, and considering the content on page 11 between lines 370-383, please clarify if the ratio PP/TSS is presented and discussed, or PP/TP.
I look forward to reading more about your research outcome.
