Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors need to justify the selection of TELEMAC 2D and not 1D or 3D. Why was the -Epsilon used to describe the turbulent flow.

The equation sources need to be cited it is absent in equation 11.

Adher to the referening and citing style. Page 7 line323 has the web address listed in the paper

Include the sources for all the figures.

The parameters listed in the results section (page 9 line 378 to 384 needs to be justified.

The discussion of the figures are not adequate. The discussions should be near the figures and the significance of the figures and their colors should be explained in relation to the simulations and the results.

On page 12 line 427, the oil spill initial mass is listed as 1700Kg. Oil spills start gradually and dont suddenly jump to 1700Kg. The authors need to specify the type of spill that starts out at 1700Kg.

On page 12 line 435, the authors state that 57% of the oil is stranded onshore. This is confusing as the target area of the simulations is onshore. How come 57% of the oil is now located onshore?

Figure 9 is a bit misleading. Are you saying that under the wind effect, all the oil spill leaves the spill location?

The quality of the English is ok. A re-read is recommended to identify and correct minor errors in the document.

-Use a scale in the maps and the coordiantes

- Integrate some values in the abstract

- If possible to add a conceptual model showing the problem of contamination (oil trajectory and its hydrodynamic)

- More detail this contamination phenomenon (the variability of the mobility++++)

- Integrate another international reference:

Response to Reviewer 2 Comments

Point 1: I don't detect the conceptual model.

Response 1: The authors would like to thank again Reviewer#2 for all the useful and helpful comments, which have allowed us to improve our manuscript. We don't know exactly what you mean by conceptual model!

Unfortunately, in this study, we can not add a conceptual model showing the problem of contamination, as you suggested in the first revision. We think this will be highly considered for future studies. It worth mentioning that the transport model of TELEMAC-2D, used in the present study, took into account various processes, including the oil slick advection and diffusion as well as the effect of weather conditions such as the oil spreading, evaporation, dissolution, and volatilization.

Furthermore, we will conduct further studies using a 3D modeling approach to obtain a more complete description of the hydrodynamic process, helping to better incorporate a conceptual model of contaminant migration.

Point 2: The English must be revised.

Response 2: English was further revised and some sentences were changed to make them easy to read and understand.
