Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper presents an analysis of the scientific literature devoted to the problem of load sharing and phasing in planetary gearboxes. Overall, the structure of this paper is good, and some promising results are presented. Here are some minor suggestions to further improve the quality of this paper:

1) It is suggested to introduce the unique advantages of the planetary gearbox in industrial practices compared with the fix-axis gearbox. And also list some planetary gearbox applications.

2) It is suggested to present the whole organization of this paper at the end of the Introduction.

3) The parameters in the equations should be explained.

The article is well done. It is devoted to the issues of load sharing and phasing in planetary gears. The issues related to planetary gears are very complex, and the authors' success is that they took up the issue. The complexity of this issue results from the geometry of the construction of these transmissions.

Research aimed at developing load sharing and exploration models deserve particular attention.

The authors rightly attempt to evaluate the impact of various parameters, such as on the distribution of load between planets. Practical aspects have also been taken into account, for example the effects of some errors in the failure to comply with the tolerance values of errors in shape and position tolerances that occur during production or assembly, for example - misalignment or position errors.

The paper presents an analysis of the scientific literature, the value of this analysis will increase after supplementing the review with literature showing technical challenges showing research, operation and practical applications of planetary gears, for example:: https://doi.org/10.3390/s19194240, https://doi.org/10.3390/ma12162517,   https://doi.org/10.3390/app112411835

The conclusions resulting from the research are correct, but the conclusions should refer to the authors' achievements in the field of planetary gears research. There is no such reference at present. No directions for further, in-depth research or limitations are indicated conducted research.

An article with more than 30 pages (even if it is reviewed) is too much material for a potential reader to read. Classically in a scientific journal, the article should present a selected issue in order to show new achievements that will interest the reader on several pages. The authors discuss a number of different issues (more or less known or complicated), going from paragraph to paragraph - it is necessarily a more or less detailed description (here, for example, almost completely devoid of mathematical apparatus or operational characteristics). Tracking the content is difficult - the reader has to engage in the entire text to assess whether he has found something interesting for himself or not. This will reduce interest in such an article.

In the presented form, the work can be included in a book preparation (after minor additions, e.g. with drawings, charts, photos). A reader who is more involved and ready to devote more time to the subject - will be looking for a discussion of the issues of interest to him in monographic studies - this article will not provide answers to more detailed problems.
