This manuscript presented a qualitative subjective survey and quantitative objective measurement to investigate the adaptive thermal comfort in office buildings with specified system under dry-hot climate. The current version presented a sufficient background introduction, and sufficient data analysis. The writing is acceptable. My minor comments would like to make the manuscript better and more reasonable.
(1) The authors were suggested to present some figures showing the field measurement especially for the office buildings, the test instruments, and the occupants.
(2) The table 3, the strikethrough lines may be the mistakes when the article was submitted.
(3) For the section 4.2 comparison with previous research by different modes, technically, the adaptive models were interesting and meaningful, however, considering the study purpose, the dry-hot climate and the ECS system may have its separate model. In other words, the table 7 did not present remarkable effect. Please clarify it.

The manuscript entitled “Investigation Study on Adaptive Thermal Comfort in Office Buildings with Evaporative Cooling Systems (ECS) under Dry-hot Climate” is relevant and interesting. However, I have some comments or questions that need to be addressed before this manuscript could be accepted for publication.
- Abstract section exceeds the words limit (> 200).
- Add the author names to the citation (left area in the first page).
- The authors should include a list of acronyms.
- Figures 3, 5 and 6 show several graphs. The letters "a)", "b)", etc. are placed below each graph. The authors should move them and place them in the upper left corner of each graph. This change will make them easier to read.
- Was there a dress code in the 8 surveyed office buildings? Figure 10 shows clothing insulation values below 0.35 clo. Is a clothing insulation value of 0.3 clo common in these buildings? Which clothing does it correspond to?

This study presents the adaptive thermal comfort in buildings with ECS in Urumqi. With a comprehensive investigation using field study, serve, and in-situ observations, the study shows the characteristics of adaptive thermal conform in a regional area. I would suggest the manuscript be improved in the following way:
(1) Consider shortening section 1.2 Previous studies and emphasize the significance and originality of this study. In Section 1.2, please describe or summarize the research gap and how this study could fill the gap.
2. Since the study is using data of office buildings with ECS, a critical dataset to compare is the temperature data from office buildings without ECS. The environmental temperature is important, but it seems that the study is missing the data from the control group in the same time period.
3. Please discuss how the prediction model could be potentially applied—for example, the spatial extent (e.g., regional, or larger spatial extent).
