1 | The approval process was completed on 4 October. It started in January 2020 with a process of consultations that saw the social partners at European level as protagonists (Porcheddu 2020), continued with the presentation by the European Commission on 28 October 2020 of a proposal for a directive (Spattini 2020) and subsequently with negotiations between the Council and the European Parliament to reach agreement on a common position. It finally concluded with the adoption of the European Parliament of 14 September 2022 and the decision of the Council of 4 October 2022. |
