Rock Magnetism and Magnetic Fabric Study of the Icelandite and Rhyodacite Long Volcanic Sequence at Mauna Kuwale, Wai’anae Volcano, Oahu, Hawaii, USA
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The paper reports on the magnetic properties and anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) study of Late Pliocene lavas from the Wai’anae volcano, Oahu, Hawaii. While the obtained results appear sound and interesting, their interpretation is largely missing. The Discussion section just repeats, in a more consise form, the description of the results presented in the previous sections. In this part, one would expect to see at least: (i) how (and whether) AMS is related to the rock magnetic properties, (ii) a comparison of the AMS and magnetic properties of studied rocks with the behavior observed for volcanics elsewhere in the world, and (iii) some inferences about the volcanic process that formed the studied lavas.
In the absence of a proper data interpretation, it is hard to see how the authors arrive at their conclusion that "magnetic fabric is primary and of magmatic origin, indicating that both, the icelandite and rhyodacite flows in question, have not been affected by tectonic deformation." The path from the observations to this conclusion needs to be clearly traced in the Discussion part.
The presentation needs to be improved significatnly. I entered my comments and suggestions directly to the manuscript file. I also tried to edit some awkward phrases and corrected a few typos.

Dear Sirs:
We are contacting you via this message to express our many thanks for the time and effort of both the Editor(s) as well as the Reviewers (i.e. 1 and 2) and the GEOSCIENCES MDPI reviewers to make our manuscript readable as well as publishable.
We have addressed, edited, and improved the ENTIRE manuscript following the recommendations of the reviewers to the best of our abilities. These suggestions include the text as well as figures 2 and 6. We have also have added the numerical results of the magnetic granulometry experiment as suggested by the reviews as Table #2.
Please let us know if ALL these changes and improvements are enough to publish our work in GEOSCIENCES!
Greatfully
Sincerely your
Emilio and Mario
Reviewer 2 Report
Nouvelle study in two different volcanic rock types. New data are provided, and of particular interest is the AMS, which is (but needs to be improved) discussed in relation to the magnetic mineralogy.

Dear Sirs:
We have highlighted in BLUE ALL the suggested changes by Reviewer #2 and the editors of GEOSCIENCES, these include the updated references, Table #2 rounded with only 2 digits as well as the units of Magnetization and Fields.
