The research is interesting and easy to read. I have no objections to the content of the article, the execution of the experiments and the analysis of the results, but there are some comments regarding the paper. Authors may use them to improve the paper further before publication.

1) [Line 43, 44, 46]: A sentence ends with a semicolon instead of a point. It occurs throughout the text. Please make adjustments.

2) [Line 43]: The sentence should be corrected for a better understanding of its content. So far it seems that in order to reduce the damage, then the effect of the damage should be reduced: “In order to reduce the damage rate of millet grain, the impact damage to millet grain should be minimized when designing the threshing device”.

3) [Line 76]: It would be necessary to formulate the aim of the research more precisely, as well as how it will be achieved.

4) [Line 103]: In Figure 1(a) as a 11 you have designation – “frame”, but as a 1(a) – “the whole frame”. Perhaps another designation should be used, such as equipped frame or assembled frame in case of 1(a)?

5) [Line 138, 140]: Different presentation of units of measurement - spaces between letters/numbers.

6) Figure 3 needs to be enlarged to better see the symbols in it.

7) [Line 328]: No space between text and title.

8) [Line 330]: The notation of revolutions does not correspond to SI units. SI derived rotational speed: min−1. It occurs throughout the text.

9) [Line 359]: Consider whether you need to write “The picture shows the influence of drum speed and feeding amount on millet agglomerates rate” in image captions. Maybe it's better to say only "influence of drum speed and feeding amount on millet agglomerates rate"? It is found in several Figures: 11-13.

10) Fig. 11-13: It is necessary to translate the captions to the images to English in order to better understand the content of the images.

11) [Line 444]: Please name this “traditional millet threshing device on the market at present”.

12) It is necessary to read the article thoroughly and make corrections in English.

1. The authors should strengthen the relevance of the chosen topic of scientific research, it is not properly disclosed in the introduction. It is required to strengthen it with data on other zones of millet cultivation, not only limited to the territory of Northern China. The list of references numbered 1-5 does not sufficiently convincingly reveal the completeness of the scientific research carried out in the article.

2. I consider it necessary in the text, which discusses the study of the threshing process in a threshing apparatus, to add references to the studies of foreign colleagues in this area, for example: “ZhalninE.V., ChaplyginM.E. Dynamics of Fractional Composition of Grain-and-Straw Mass Being Threshedin the Threshing Mechanism of a Combine Harvester. Engineering Technologies and Systems. 2022;32(2):249–262. doi: https://doi.org/10.15507/2658-4123.032.202202.249-262".

3. In the "Materials and Methods" section, the authors do not indicate which well-known scientific methods they used in solving the tasks.

4. According to the text of the article, there are numerical discrepancies in the amount of supply of threshing material to the threshing apparatus. The annotation indicates the value of the feed 1.3 kg / s, and in paragraph 2.3.1 the amount of feed is 1.5 kg / s.
