The peer-reviewed work is interesting and includes material on the Commiphora plants myrrha and Boswellia serrata and their therapeutic effect and use in the cosmetics industry. Has been edited correctly. I believe that the work will be readily read and quoted. The only drawback is numerous editorial errors, e.g. part of the work is justified, part no, misplaced punctuation marks, etc. I recommend the work for publication in Cosmetics after editorial correction.

This review: “Biochemical Properties and Cosmetic Uses of Commiphora myrrha and Boswellia serrata” aims to summarize and update current knowledge on the bioactive compounds and cosmeceutical properties of myrrh and frankincense and their use in cosmetic formulations. 

Since time immemorial, resin from the species Boswellia serrata and the Commiphora myrrha has been used as fragrances in daily rituals and in religious ceremonies. Recent studies have revealed that Commiphora myrrha (myrrh) and Boswellia serrata (frankincense) extracts can be used as adhesives, as ingredients for cosmetic preparations, as coating materials and also for their different curative powers in several diseases.

This manuscript is well-written, logically structured, well-illustrated and easy to understand. Moreover addresses a subject interesting to the scientific community, comprehensively presenting the bioactive compounds of the resins of both species, positively impacting human health and the cosmetic industry.

The abstract encapsulates the entire study. The introduction gives a background of the issue in question. However, in the introduction, the authors should indicate the detailed objectives of this manuscript. 

The remaining points of the manuscript correctly address all the aspects proposed in the objectives supported by a considerable number of bibliographic references, 157 references. 

Section 7 needs to be formatted and the species name must be written in italics. Also in this section, the authors refer to “using these plants of cosmetic value helps the growth of the cosmetic industry …” In this perspective, it would be important to further develop the economic impact of new products in the cosmetic industry.

Serrata and determine their chemical composition, activities of antioxidants, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory and their influential role in promoting the health of the human body, especially their effective activity against acne and wrinkles, and many of the excellent effects and high value of these plants in cosmetics.

From an economic perspective, Finding natural sources with cosmetic properties and using them in the development of cosmetics helps to achieve the best use of these plants and is likely to reduce environmental losses such as burning plants and dumping environmental waste and others and helps expand the sources of income for countries exporting these plants.
