Implementing Reflective Group Work Activities in a Large Chemistry Lab to Support Collaborative Learning
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This paper is extremely important in its purpose, scope, and message. it should be mandatory reading for general chemistry lab instructors, frankly. I found it to be well researched, well written, clearly presented, thorough, and inviting. It is perhaps a shame that the authors could not obtain some of the data they were hoping to use, but I would guess it was not for lack of trying. Nevertheless, this was a pleasure to review. Excellent scholarly work--I hope many read it and join in the restlessness.

Reviewer 2 Report
I am very happy to read this paper. The paper is focusing on an issue that many universities and their labs are facing, however – I assume – in most of the cases it is not pay much attention to it.
As authors mentioned, lot of us hope and think that skills needed for a successful group work are gained in school. But we all know this I not the case.
I think the paper is very well written. The need for the study and the innovation is good explained and the relevant literature named. I think that the innovation is well explained and can be used from other chemistry educators. Good job! The study done is well explained and the limitations are discussed.
