Special Issue Information

New monoclonal antibody vaccines for Alzheimer’s disease promise relief from symptoms and slowing of disease progression. These antibodies target beta amyloid with the goal of decreasing brain loads of plaques. Several of these vaccines have been tested and failed to improve symptoms, even though the load of plaques decreased. However, lecanemab is an FDA-approved vaccine that seems to improve symptoms in early Alzheimer’s disease at least for a few months. Does this prove that beta amyloid causes Alzheimer’s disease? It is clear that diet and lifestyle are important in the cause and progression of the disease. What are the mechanisms involving poor diet and lifestyle that increase the onset and progression of the disease? Several alternative medicines have been used to treat the disease. How do these medicines work? These and other questions will be addressed in this Special Issue on Alzheimer’s disease.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
