Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The diversity of nature provides great inspiration for the development of soft electronic devices. Bio-inspired soft bioelectronics has emerged as a promising field of research. Biomimetic soft electronic sensing materials and devices, such as e-skin, e-receptors, artificial neurons, and soft nanogenerators, have captured the attention of researchers. Bio-inspired soft electronic sensing materials and devices have expanded the functions and application scenarios of traditional sensor devices. Bio-inspired soft actuation is also a key part of bio-inspired soft electronics, and it is based on electronically distributed or electrically driven processes, such as soft actuation and soft electrical wetting, which can simulate muscle movement and morphology changes and broaden applications of bio-inspired soft electronics. This Special Issue focuses on innovative bio-inspired soft bioelectronic technologies, such as new materials, devices, and applications.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Biomimetics is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
