Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Image processing (IP) is one research area in which Blockchain comes together to ensure security purposes. In common, an image can be 2D/3D and can have a lot of useful and sensitive information. Recently, the large-scale authentication system is based on biometric fingerprints, which is in image format. Blockchain is a promising solution to solve security problems, then it hereby provides the industry with key benefits in this area. Nowadays, it is of utmost importance that researchers and experts in both fields of IP and Blockchain engage in inventing and testing newer models and theories that hinge on technological novelty when dealing with security purposes.
Specifically, Blockchain is useful in IP for several reasons: i) It assures security for high dimensional images; ii) It is not able to alter and morph the image; iii) It enables remote access, due to the blockchain is a decentralized-based technology; and iv) It allows the user who has rights to access.
Furthermore, this Special Issue (SI) is focused on research that addresses Real-world Secure scenarios by proposing novel approaches from IP using the Blockchain paradigm. Therefore, the purpose of this SI is to broadly engage the communities of IP and Blockchain developers/researchers together in order to provide a forum for the community interested in this rapidly developing field, and share their novel and original ideas regarding the scope of this SI.
Additionally, survey papers are also welcome. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- IoT for IP and Blockchain.
- Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence for Surveillance.
- Trends in Surveillance using Blockchain and IP.
- Face Recognition.
- Drivers identification.
- High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Blockchain for surveillance.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
