Dear Colleagues,
The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) and the vital need for renewable energy (RE) can be recognized as the hottest topics of recent decades in which very fast developments have been recorded in the form of patents, articles, and textbooks. The stem of AI was soon divided into several branches and implemented in object recognition and pattern prediction, as well. In compliance with sustainable goals proposed by the UN, renewable energy systems (RES), including all solar, hydro-, wind, biomass, and geothermal powers, have also proved themselves as a promising remedy for the energy provision dilemma. They are recognized as available outstanding technologies nominated for substitution of limited fossil fuel resources in a vast literature. Tracking the latest publications in the pool of published knowledge, has revealed that a new state-of-the-art area has been formed in which these two advanced branches of technology have recently met each other.
Within this Special Issue, both academic and industrial researchers are kindly invited to contribute and address advanced technologies and theories as well as the most recent developments on the AI role in renewable energy systems. This hot area of science continues to grow in popularity, and the results of this outstanding challenge will shed light on the future trends and patterns of the most demanding type of energy. This Special Issue intends to facilitate identifying auspicious directions for prospective investigations that will construct the future of our world.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
