Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue represents an important opportunity for a better understanding of the molecular pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the onset and maintenance of heart failure, such as oxidative stress, platelet activation, systemic inflammation, etc. In this context, it appears interesting to search for possible molecules with a potential prognostic role, not only on the risk of cardiovascular death but also on the risk of hospitalization. Given the new pharmacological classes, it also appears interesting to assess the possible effect of these therapies on the aforementioned pathophysiological mechanisms. Furthermore, the integrated management of cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular comorbidities appears to be of increasing interest and prognostic significance, including considering what the potential clinical benefit of such an approach might be.
