Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The burgeoning field of cancer immunology has revolutionized cancer treatment, offering the promise of personalized therapies tailored to each patient's unique tumor microenvironment. Building on decades of research into the intricate interplay between the immune system and tumor microenvironment (TME), recent advances have ushered in an era of unprecedented therapeutic possibilities.

The role of the TME in shaping the efficacy of personalized cancer immunotherapy is critical, as the complexity of the TME—including immune cells, stromal cells, the extracellular matrix, and the microbiome—can significantly influence treatment outcomes. Tumors often modify their microenvironment to evade immune detection, with the microbiome playing a key role in modulating immune responses, posing a major challenge for personalized immunotherapy strategies.

This Special Issue aims to showcase the latest breakthroughs in harnessing the immune system to combat cancer. We invite cutting-edge research identifying novel immunotherapeutic targets, innovative approaches to patient selection and treatment monitoring, and strategies to overcome treatment resistance and personalized cancer immunotherapy. We also encourage submissions exploring the potential of emerging technologies, including single-cell sequencing, artificial intelligence, and nanomedicine. We are particularly interested in studies investigating the integration of immunotherapy with other treatment modalities, such as targeted therapy, radiation therapy, and gene editing, to advance personalized cancer immunotherapy.

We solicit original articles, reviews, and other papers paving the way for a future of more effective, safer, and tailored cancer treatment.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Personalized Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
