Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Ammonia is regarded as one of the most popular clean-burning, carbon-free fuels, and the demand is increasing year by year. In response to its great demand and consumption, there are emerging efforts to transport and separate ammonia. The traditional ammonia separation process requires extremely high temperatures (>400 °C) and pressure (>150 bar), which are hard to improve on. An alternative approach is to replace the separation process with absorption, and membrane separation technology can ensure modular ammonia production at reduced pressure (≤30 bar), proving to be a more energy-saving and environmentally friendly technology.
Our Special Issue, Membranes in Ammonia Transport and Separation, offers a venue for researchers to share cutting-edge research on ammonia transport and separation, membrane preparation, membrane materials, membrane characterizations, membrane processing, etc.
Research articles, comprehensive reviews, and short communications are welcome contributions to this Special Issue.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Membranes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
