Dear Colleagues,
The antibiotic resistance of bacteria implicated in human pathology is a global phenomenon that increases every day, but its distribution is not homogeneous across different geographic regions. The causes of this variation are very complex since this phenomenon is multifactorial, including human, animal and environmental (One health).
Resistance rates in Southern Europe are higher than in Northern countries, and this monograph aims to address this problem from various points of view. Articles will be included that describe the epidemiology of resistance in Spain, the development of stewardship systems, advances in the molecular characterization of genotypes of most prevalent resistance in our environment, the use of antibiotics and the implication of veterinary medicine and the environment.

Microorganisms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
