Dear Colleagues,
Though heterocyclic compounds have been under study for a long time, their ability to cure many diseases has attracted modern scientists to manipulate their structures to enhance their performance by inducing selectivity. As there is a dire need for the mass production of heterocyclic compounds in terms of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and personal care products, there arises a necessity to drift towards green techniques for the synthesis of heterocyclic scaffolds. A diverse range of useful techniques like ultrasonication, microwave irradiation, and grinding techniques involving recyclable catalysts have recently been in great demand as they allow the acceleration of reaction rate along with high yields and lesser to no harmful by-products. Choosing the right reagents with the proper technique improves the predictability of the final products.
This Special Issue will be a platform for all readers to become acquainted with the most current research works in this field. Therefore, we would like to collaborate with researchers having firm knowledge and expertise in catalytic and green branches of chemistry. We especially appreciate multi-disciplinary approaches on synthetic techniques and mechanism developments. We would be pleased to receive papers, review articles and short communications that pave the way for the further stimulation of research for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds which might become pioneers in medicinal and fine-chemical industries.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
