Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Energetic nanomaterials have been widely investigated by scientists and engineers. The optimal way to improve the performance of energetic materials and widen the application fields have attracted great attention in recent few years. With the development of energetic nanomaterials, an increasing number studies of structures’ design, characterization, and performance modulation have been conducted. But there is still much to be investigated, such as technics promotion, novel materials, safety engineering and related creative theories, etc. The nano-energetic materials major includes novel nano-structure metals, organic energetic materials, propellants, explosives, fireworks, etc. The publication range of this Special Issue titled “Energetic Nanomaterials Science and Technology” includes, but is not limited to the following, the following topics:

  1. Nano-sized aluminum and manganese and their alloys, as well as the preparation, characterization, ignition and combustion of thermites and related applications;
  2. Propellants, such as the hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), carboxyl terminated polybutadiene (CTPB), crosslinking double base propellant (XLDB), nitrocellulose, isocyanate-terminated polyethers, nitrateEster plasticized polyether (NEPE), glycidyl azide polymer (GAP), etc.;
  3. Explosives, such as nanosize trinitrotoluene, CL-20, hexogen, octogen, etc., and related composites;
  4. The production and processing of energetic nanomaterials, such as casting processes, explosive charge/filling, safety engineering, surface modification, etc., and related environmental pollution process;
  5. The development of theories, such as explosive materials theory, propellant dynamics and combustion mechanics, studies of ignition and combustion dynamics theory, etc.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Nanomaterials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
