Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue addresses dietary interventions for patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), the leading cause of global morbidity and mortality. It highlights the role of our diet in preventing and managing CVD, focusing on evidence-based strategies to reduce cardiovascular risk factors and improve patient outcomes.
We welcome submissions based on original research, meta-research data, observational and interventional studies, and narrative reviews. This Special Issue explores key dietary patterns, such as the Mediterranean diet, DASH, and plant-based diets, evaluating their effectiveness in controlling blood pressure, reducing cholesterol, enhancing insulin sensitivity, and lowering inflammation—which are central factors in CVD progression. It also discusses the importance of personalized nutrition, considering genetic, metabolic, and lifestyle factors. Moreover, it reviews the role of dietary supplements, meal replacements, and fortified foods as adjuncts in clinical care.
This Special Issue emphasizes the integration of dietary interventions into standard CVD care, advocating for a multidisciplinary approach involving dietitians, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through nutrition.
