Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
One of the great challenges for us as well as future generations is the safe preservation and management of water. Limited water resources and a surge in pollutant levels directly or indirectly have meant it is imperative to treat and manage the wastewater produced in vast quantities. Conventional wastewater treatment methods seem to be inadequate for the exclusion of challenging pollutants in wastewater. Despite enormous efforts for pollution abatement, the situation is complicated due to the newly polluted sites and the presence of toxic chemicals in the water.
This Special Issue aims to provide a suitable platform for publishing novel research on wastewater management practices and the development of hybrid and emerging technologies for the improvement of existing methods targeted toward the removal of pollutants, especially by carbon-based materials. This call for contributions aims to encourage the submission of papers from researchers, educationalists, and industrialists focusing mainly on (but not limited to) the modeling of wastewater treatment systems, efficient remediation of pollutants, advancement and modification of existing technologies, and novel research dealing with the recovery and recycling of domestic and industrial effluents.
Nevertheless, this is an international and interdisciplinary Special Issue covering all aspects of water, water treatment, and management including removal techniques, models, and pollutants. The management of wastewater pollution is of immense value for environmental safety. This Special Issue also aims to find an efficient, valuable, and eco-friendly way of producing carbon-based materials and to explore their potential applications in the field of water and wastewater treatment.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
