Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent decades, Educational Computing has gained increased popularity among the researchers as it plays a crucial role in the educational and learning sector. The term sustainability in education means that the present-day education system should adopt education strategies and practices in such a way that it should not compromise the ability of the future generation systems to meet with the changing demands of the community. However, achieving sustainability in education is highly a complicated process as it is associated with dynamic economic, social, ecological and other factors. One of the primary concerns is that present-day educational systems provide a very less amount of importance to sustainability aspects of education. Incorporating sustainability principles across higher education can potentially enhance the sustainability aspects of education and contribute to numerous developments to the environment.

Further, with the advent of the industrial revolution and computer science, is seen as a trend to improve the sustainability in educational computing in educational systems, most activities in actual educational models have a direct or indirect impact on the environment for the use of the computer, which may result in crucial environmental problems with various consequences. Through the incorporation of sustainability in education, these negative consequences can be effectively transferred in a positive way with improved performance measures.  On the other hand, with Educational Computing, the different authors can design and include a wide range of contributions, especially from the future perspective.

It does not only generate knowledge against this background, but it also provides the most effective solutions to complex problems in a more reasonable way from the aspect of the global environment. Hence, exploring advances in sustainable education has become a vital part of today’s world. This special issue offers a wonderful platform for researchers and practitioners to present novel and innovative solutions for Sustainable in Educational Computing.

Tentative Topics:

  • Advances in education for use of Human Computer Interaction.
  • Effective methods of tools and learning paradigms in education.
  • New trends in sustainability practices in education
  • Impact of modern technologies over sustainable education.
  • Design and development of sustainable pedagogic practices for sustainable education
  • Innovative measures in sustainable education to deal with future generation technological and social demands.
  • New trends in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary practices to enhance sustainable education.
