Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
A wide range of materials are employed today in all fields of dentistry, from regenerative surgery to implantology to prosthodontics. To date, digitization processes have allowed the introduction of new technologies and materials in all fields of application. CAD/CAM technologies, different production processes, and image acquisition technologies are widely studied today. These changes will make it possible to reduce the use of materials currently used, also with a view to environmental sustainability. At the same time, in the fields of computer science and methods, they will allow pre-visualization in a virtual way and, thanks to computer graphics, working safely and with ever greater predictability.
This Special Issue fully embraces the objectives set by Symmetry, aiming to collect innovative proposals, clinical studies, and in vivo and in vitro studies that can range in the specific study areas of symmetry. The intrinsic study of dental materials and their behavior, as well as the physicochemical laws that characterize their mechanical and biocompatibility properties, can also be the subject of studies. Manuscripts regarding physics and chemistry of materials, biology, sustainability, computer science, and engineering will be an excellent starting point for the continuous development and extremely rapid advancement of technologies continually open new opportunities in dentistry.
This Special Issue is intended to give readers the opportunity to learn about new technologies and strategies to improve their clinical practices on evidence-based dentistry.
On behalf of Symmetry, you are called to provide an article to this Special Issue on “Advances in Medical Material and Its Application”. Research articles and reviews are welcome. Case reports will also be considered for publication.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Symmetry is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
