The paper is well written with a deep litterature review. The Reviewer suggests some comments and questions in order to give directions to the Authors to slightly clarify and improve the paper.
- The studied experiment considered different fertilisation modalities (in N and P application levels). This seems to not be taken into consideration in the results and/or discussion. It could be interesting to close the story by introducing the fertilisation impact within the interpretation.
- Section 2.2, please give explicitily the growing stage of the data acquisition. Could it be possible to detect earlier the disease in a preventing spirit ? Could the current study results deduce the lowest detectable disease severity based on the different considered levels ?
- The spectral range of the spectrometer goes until 2500 nm. The choice of limiting the analysis to 1000 nm is motivated by pigment observation. Is there no interesting information about mesophyll cell which could be measured within the SWIR region ?
- In the first part of Figure 9, most of the dots are located at low values near the axes origin. This should be better considered in the results analyses and in the correlation coefficient.
- In Section 3.5, an accuracy of 100% is announced. Without doubting these results, such a perfection should be deeper discussed and criticised.

Dear Authors, I have reviewed the paper "Identification and Severity Monitoring of Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus Infection Based on Hyperspectral Measurements". The aims of the paper are germane with Remote sensing applications topic, in this form of article fits with the international scientific standards. The paper is written with a moderate English level. The contribution of this paper to the scientific knowledge is good. Although, in my opinion, there some flaws and I suggest the corrections in the comments in the attached file.
