Performance Evaluation of Random Access Methods for IoT-over-Satellite
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The authors present a comprehensive framework for the uplink performance of IoT- 411 over-satellite networks utilizing the LoRa modulation scheme.
The presentation of the problem and the proposed solution are of excellent quality.
A minor issue: the numbering of the figures starts from 2. Please double-check the reference of the figures in the text.
Author Response
We thank the reviewer for the careful read and the suggestion. We have double-checked all the figures numbering and made sure it is correct in the new revision.

The paper is well-written and presented prpoerly. However I have some concerns about the scientific results obtained specifically the bit error rate that is very high (see figures 8, 10 and 12) which is mostly higher than 60% !!!.
I think there is no feasibility at all from a system that two-third of its packets are received with errors and the situation becomes serious with Doppler shift. Even with any correction methods, the error rate is not acceptable at all. So I wonder why the authors state that the system is feasible?
Therefore, the authors should explain the feasibility of the system at other operating conditions which may require higher transmitting power or the sensors may require higher antenna gain, etc...
