Dynamics of Mesozooplankton Assemblage in Relation to Environmental Factors in the Maryland Coastal Bays
Abstract
:1. Introduction
- To compare mesozooplankton, particularly non-copepod taxa, abundance and community structure among the MCBs embayments;
- To determine seasonal patterns in mesozooplankton abundance and community structure;
- To compare mesozooplankton composition, abundance and diversity between relatively dry (2012) and wet (2013) years;
- To assess the relationships between mesozooplankton taxa abundance and abiotic and biotic factors; and
- To use information on decapod larval occurrence to determine whether blue crabs spawn within the MCBs.
