Symmetry at the Cellular Mesoscale
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This is a review. I will suggest to give some additional information (or al least references..) on the point-group symmetry to facilitate the understanding by the reader that is not normally an expert in symmetry.
Author Response
Thank you for the suggestion. I have added a short description of point group symmetry and their expression in biomolecules, and a new figure that highlights the different classes of rotational point group symmetries.
Reviewer 2 Report
This review article describes some examples of structural biology
with visual figures and mentioned their relationship of symmetry.
Description of sentences was nice to image structural features of biomolecules and their cellular functions. References of papers or PDB were appropriately selected.
Some figures were beautiful to help understand the description.
However, their relationship of symmetry or point groups mentioned sometimes were not clear at all as it is.
Before acceptance, please modify the figures to add symmetry elements, for example, in order for readers' better understanding.
That's all.
Author Response
Thank you for the nice comments and the useful suggestions. I have added a short description of point group symmetry and their expression in biomolecules, and a new figure that highlights the different classes of rotational point group symmetries, showing the location of the symmetry elements.
