Article overview

Xuelei Wang, Zhaojun Dong and others. "Metal-containing Zinc Phosphate EDI Zeolites Synthesized by Sol-Gel Assisted Hydrothermal Method ."

Relevance of the article: This article is dedicated to the synthesis of new metal-based zeolites based on zinc phosphate. These zeolites are partially replaced by Fe, Co, Ni (M-EDI). These zeolites have high antiferromagnetic properties, so they can be used for electricity , Optics and other fields.

Metal-substituted zinc phosphate (M-EDI) was synthesized by sol-gel hydrothermal synthesis. It should be noted that all synthetic zeolite M-EDI has a high degree of crystallinity. They conducted research through various physical and chemical methods.

The comments and suggestions should indicate:

  1. From table 1 it follows that all substituted M-EDIs have similar elemental compositions: Zn - in the region of 8.03 - 10.82 %% M - from 20.12 to 23.76%, but have different morphologies of particles of M-EDI crystals, especially samples (a) and (c); (c) and (d) in Fig. 3. How can one explain such a different structure of M-EDI particle crystals.
  2. On the roentgenograms (Figure 4) of M-EDI, no lines characteristic of Fe, Ni, Co, and other than pure EDI are visible. It is necessary to note these lines characteristic of Fe, Co, and Ni in the text of the article. If they are not, then how to explain it.
  3. It is necessary to show in the article, to note where these new M-EDIs can find practical application, otherwise without this the article does not look like a finished work.

In general, this work has great theoretical and practical significance. After excluding and considering comments and suggestions, it is likely to be published in "Mineral Magazine".

Regards,

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors of the manuscript entitled: "Metal-containing Zinc Phosphate EDI Zeolite Synthesized by Sol-Gel Assisted Hydrothermal Method" contains a wide experimental work and also results are described and discussed extensively. I want to congratulate authors. However, I considered some minor changes must be done in the manuscript before it can be accepted.

  1. There were found several grammar mistakes, so English should be revised in the entire manuscript.
  2. In my opinion the Table 1, the percentages of Zn, M, P, C etc must be expressed including the standard deviation or error values.
  3. I suggested in the conclusion section it must be included a final paragraph providing information about the potential applications for these materials and future works.
