There were three errors in the original publication [1].
  • In Section 2, Geologic Background, fifth line, the letters ‘ITT’ were inserted inadvertently, and should be removed. The line should read, ‘The location of the western margin of the craton has been inferred on the basis of an 87Sr/86Sr isotopic isopleth—the so-called ‘0.706 line’—as measured in Mesozoic granitoid rocks [6–10] and also in Neogene volcanic rocks [11].’
  • In Section 4, Results, the first sentences in the third paragraph were modified by removing a string of words. The passage should read, ‘COM-22 zircons also exhibit dark, high-U cores and bright, low-U rims (Figure 2c). Based on 31 analyses on 14 grains, the darker cores yielded Archean dates (3.5–2.7 Ga), with peak 207Pb/206Pb ages of 2747 ± 30 and 3210 ± 33 Ma, and one outlier at 3568 Ma.’
  • In Section 5, Discussion, the first sentence needs a small edit, adding the word “on” after “bears”; it should read, ‘…this study bears on two significant questions:…’.
The authors state that the scientific conclusions are unaffected. This correction was approved by the Academic Editor. The original publication has also been updated.
