Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors presented a study named “Effects of Strengthen-modified Grinding on the Surface Microstructure and Mechanical Property of 30CrMnSiA Bearing Steel” which is good and can be accepted after minor modifications.

Abstract is good and gives the numerical results.

The introduction analyzes the literature very well.

Composition ratio of the strengthened grinding fluids needs to be supported with citations.

It is needed to give the main aim of the study in the last paragraph of the introduction.

Chemical composition needs a citation where the material was provided.

Are all of the equations original?

Figure 2 is not explained well. Please give comprehensive evaluation for the sem results.

Please make labels on the topographies in the Figure 3 showing the debris, hollows and peaks.

Figure 6 is not explained well. Please give comprehensive evaluation for the diagrams.

The authors need to add discussion section.

Reviewer 2 Report

1) The authors, most likely by mistake, omitted chapter 2, which should have the title: "Materials and methods".

2) I think the authors should add a chapter: "2.4. Methods" and explain in it the useful methods in the paper. They wrote very little about methods in chapters 2.2. and 2.3., but not enough.

3) In Figure 7a) the legend for the labels: "Average grain size" and "lattice distortion" are shown in green and blue, respectively. This means that when the work is printed in black and white, the markings shown in different colors will not be visible. My suggestion is to display the label legend with a symbol and a textual explanation of the label.

Response to Reviewer 2 Comments

Point 1: The authors, most likely by mistake, omitted chapter 2, which should have the title: "Materials and methods".

Response 1: Due to an oversight on my part, this mistake will be corrected in the revised version.

Point 2: I think the authors should add a chapter: "2.4. Methods" and explain in it the useful methods in the paper. They wrote very little about methods in chapters 2.2. and 2.3., but not enough.

Response 2: Thank you for your suggestion, I will explain the methodology used in this paper in detail in sections 2.2 and 2.3.

Point 3: In Figure 7a) the legend for the labels: "Average grain size" and "lattice distortion" are shown in green and blue, respectively. This means that when the work is printed in black and white, the markings shown in different colors will not be visible. My suggestion is to display the label legend with a symbol and a textual explanation of the label.

Response 3: I will take your suggestion and display the label legend with a symbol and a textual explanation of the label.
