Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This article focuses on the temperature distribution of the foil bearings. It is interesting, well-presented, and discussed. However, some minor issues have to be addressed before publication.

·       Figure 1, please also add a block chart/sketch with the name of each part for the equipment.

·       Please give a reason why the maximum rpm studied here is 24,000.

·       Page 9, there are some technical errors for the word “Figure” linking to the figure numbers.

·       Figures 21-25 (also Figures 11-16), please discuss more on the size, shape, and behavior of the vibration trajectory.

·       Please discuss more on the highest temperature area for Figure 20. Why is only a spot observed for the highest temperature?

·       The conclusion is too long.

Authors have  presented an experimental study carried out on a rotor operating on two foil bearings. The contents are interesting applicable. I recommend. But Some revision like:

1, Why this study is significant not clear?

2. Main source of the considered problem is not references?

3. Language and novelty is very week.

4. Conclusion is not imparative

The article fully meets the requirements of the modern era. Very nice methods were used. The article is very interesting. I have a small comment on the article.

1. It would be better if they refer to the published works of the last 5 years in the literature list.

2. It is better if the introduction part is expanded.

3. It is better if the conclusion and discussion part are written separately.

After correcting these comments, the article can be printed. Good luck.
