Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

"Configuration Origin Variants of Superior Thyroid, Lingual and Facial Arteries: A Proposal Updating of Current Classification" is an informative and well-researched article that proposes an updated classification system for the origins of the superior thyroid, lingual, and facial arteries. The authors provide a thorough review of existing literature and highlight the need for a standardized classification system in order to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

The article is written in clear and concise language, making it easy for readers to understand the proposed classification system and its potential implications. The authors provide detailed illustrations and diagrams that further enhance the clarity of their proposal.

One of the strengths of this article is its focus on the practical implications of the proposed classification system. The authors discuss how the proposed system could be used to guide surgical planning and improve patient outcomes, particularly in the context of head and neck surgeries.

Overall, I would highly recommend this article to anyone interested in the anatomy variations of the head and neck region. The authors provide a valuable contribution to the field and their proposed classification system has the potential to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Well-written and well-prepared study. My comment concerns only the engravings. Dissections are clean and elegant. However, I suggest that each engraving showing a given variety should be accompanied by an appropriate diagram. For clearer communication, all variations must be shown on both the anatomical specimen and the general sketch/diagram accompanying the photograph.

This article was well written and the authors did an excellent job with their literature review on this topic. The anatomical variation found by the authors is a very important addition to this classification system and should be used in any subsequent classification articles on the subject of ECA anterior branches. With minor revision (please see both tracked changes and comments included in my revised copy), I think this article will be an excellent addition to the journal of Applied Sciences.
