Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Authors should address the following comments.

In Table3, authors should include the gain and efficiency for comparison. It is not clear how authors implemented the diode in their measurement. Clearer explanation with additional figure and diagram are required. The total efficiency and gain of the antenna is quite low. How antenna can operate with such poor performance practically? What is acceptable level in practice?  For mobile handset applications, why authors didnt consider MIMO antenna design as LTE band requires MIMO antenna for a better performance. Please also provide step by step design procedure.

Dear Author

first of all, congratulations on this work. Here are some suggestions-remarks on your manuscript.

lines 43-44: 'Moreover, ....needed.' This sentence makes no sense, please modify it.

line 45- it should be 'cover multiple bands'

line 54- better  make it ' unsuitable'

line 56- it should be ' but only covers'

line 61- it should be ' it is challenging for antenna engineers to integrate... and to achieve....'

line 64- 'and multiband operation'

line 72- 'in figure'

line 99- ' Theoretically...' please add references to it.

line 128- 'is used to generate'

line 129- 'that enable multiband operation'

line 135- 'need to be determined'

line 136- 'the lower resonant frequencies depend on the total ...'

line 143- In Figure 6' caption, 'c' is missing

line 154- 'data was...'

line 161- Is it db or dbi ?

line 189- ' which can be applied in a 5G...'

Remark 1: In line 12 you mention 'three working status' but the states in Table 2 are four. What is the difference between status and states?

Remark 2- In  figure 6, you make a parametric study for p1,p2 without mentioning the value of p1 when examining p2 and vice versa.

Remark 3- You mention that the antenna is a multiband one based on S11 parameter having as a criterion the  '-6 db impedance bandwidith' .

How '6' came up given that all  antenna engineers target -10db.  Furthermore, an efficiency below 30% is totally unacceptable, actually the antenna is not working.
