Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis study provides a concise overview of the study's objectives and findings. However, it would enhance the clarity and comprehension of the paper if the authors present the data and sample information before delving into the results. By doing so, readers would have a better contextual understanding of the empirical analysis, making it easier to interpret the subsequent findings. A structured presentation, beginning with the data and sample characteristics, followed by the methodology and results, would facilitate a smoother flow of information and aid in the overall coherence of the paper.
Additionally, you might consider the following comments:
- It would be beneficial if the paper elaborates on the specific techniques employed for assessing accounting information system quality through discretionary accruals and how investment inefficiency is estimated using the residuals of the investment regression. This clarity could enhance the reproducibility of the study.
- The paper mentions that firms with lower accounting information system quality exhibit more overinvestment. A deeper discussion on the implications of this finding and potential reasons behind such behavior could provide valuable insights for readers and stakeholders.
- It would be prudent for the authors to explicitly acknowledge any limitations in the study, such as potential biases in the sample or constraints in the data collection process. This would add transparency and strengthen the overall credibility of the research.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors
The goal of this paper is on the issue "Firms’ Investment Level and (In)efficiency: The Role of Ac- 2 counting Information System Quality", the results look good, but I like to recommend the paper for the publication by IJFS subject to the one issue by addressing the following two issues: 1) what reasons to use the SMEs' financial report (why not the listed companies' financial report); 2) how to deal with those SMEs which even do not have a basic financial report material?

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear authors,
Thank you for sending your paper to the journal. Although the topic is interesting, the current version is quite underdeveloped and close to rejection; you may have a final chance to incorporate all comments in the next version:
1- The abstract should be shortened and only cover purpose, method, finding and originality.
2- At the end of the introduction, you need to highlight the research gap and explain how the current study tries to fill it.
3- The theoretical issues and literature sections are underdeveloped by out of date references. It is strongly recommended to improve the mentioned parts by employing the most recent studies; some are listed here:
-High-Quality Auditor Presence and Informational Influence: Evidence from Firm Investment Decisions
-The Impact of Blockchain on the Quality of Accounting Information: An Iraqi Case Study
-The Impact of Investment Efficiency on Firm Value and Moderating Role of Institutional Ownership and Board Independence
-The Impact of Accounting Information Quality on Corporate Labor Investment Efficiency: Evidence from China
4-It is recommended that more control variables be included in the model.
5-Section 4 should be shifted prior to the analyses section
6-The conclusion needs development according to the results of the study.
7 The managerial and practical implications should be stated according to the findings.
