Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript gives a clear and concise picture of the relationship between surnames and patronymics in Iceland. Even middle names are discussed in connection to the use of surnames. The text is well written and the structure of the text is in general clear and logical. Anyhow, I would recommend the author to give a short description (metalanguage) at the end of introduction to present the structure of the manuscript. Additionally, chapter 3 as a relatively short notice could be better fitted under the chapter 2.

Author Response

Added paragraph on structure of article. On editor's advice, maintained section 3 as separate.
