Menon and Nayak reported an equation of state model for metals at high temperature and pressure. Three components describing respectively the zero-temperatuer iostherm, thermal ionic effects and themal electronic effects are involved in the model. To me, this model is similar to the one published in Comp. Phys. Comm. 182 (2011) 2232-2248 (Ref). Actaully, in the reference, the thermal ionic effect was treated in a more sophisticated and more accurate manner. In the present work, the authors should at least detail the difference between the present model and the one from Ref., compare their result to the one from the Ref model. By the way, the model was developed for high pressure application, why is the pV term absent in the energy (Eq. 2).
