Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This is a very interesting paper which provides a comprehensive understanding of the influence of climate resources on nature-based tourism through camping. The paper is well developed and structured, and the authors describe the relevance of the research both in the introduction and the discussion.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Author*,

thank you very much for your work. I found it interesting and in line with the topic of the special issues. Here, some comments I hope can help you in improving the study. Good luck!

1) PAG. 2 (SECTION 1.2) I suggest you to add some more literature on CCI; for example, I would suggest to indicate some studies that used the CCI and explain to what extent they used it. Please, reinforce the gap.

2) PAG. 3 (SECTION 2.1) Please, give more details on the method section. The study should be replicable and it is not so clearly indicated which is the process followed. Moreover, is this method (or a similar one) used by other studies?

3) PAG. 4 (SECTION 3.1, LINE 162) You wrote “This is consistent with other studies that have examined climate preferences for nature-based tourism (including camping) [43, 57, 51].”

I suggest you to better describe those studies in the theory section. Two out of three are not mentioned in the theory section (if I remember well the n. 57 and 51). Probably, those papers can help you in underlying the gap you try to fill in and the contributions as well.

Rutty, M.; Scott, D. Comparison of climate preferences for domestic and international beach holidays: A case study of Canadian 433 travelers. Atmosphere. 2016, 7(2), 30.

Matthews, L.; Scott, D.; Andrey, J. Development of a data-driven weather index for beach parks tourism. Int. J. Biometeorol. 421 2019, 65(5), 749-762.

4) Conclusion: please, reinforce the conclusion section and add the contributions of the study (theory and practicel).
