Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The management of implant patients is a multifaceted process that demands a comprehensive understanding of both the clinical and biological aspects of implant therapy. From initial treatment planning to long-term maintenance, successful outcomes rely on careful evaluation and tailored strategies. This Special Issue wants to explore the current state of peri-implant therapy, addressing the complexities involved in preventing and managing common complications such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. These conditions pose significant challenges to clinicians, requiring timely intervention to preserve implant function and peri-implant tissues.

The articles in this Special Issue should provide an in-depth review of the latest diagnostic techniques, treatment protocols, and preventive strategies for ensuring the longevity of dental implants. Key topics may include the importance of risk factor prevention, early detection, risk assessment, and tailored maintenance programs, as well as novel approaches to regenerative treatments for peri-implant diseases. Emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach, this Special Issue should also highlight the role of both surgical and non-surgical interventions in managing peri-implant complications. With a focus on evidence-based practices, it aims to offer clinicians valuable insights into optimizing patient outcomes, enhancing implant success, and minimizing the risk of implant failure over time. This Special Issue aims to be a valuable resource for practitioners striving to stay at the forefront of implant dentistry.
