Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Alcohol is the most commonly abused substance in the world, and also one of the most common addictions. Adverse effects of alcohol have been demonstrated for many disorders, including liver cirrhosis, mental illness, and several types of cancer, pancreatitis, and damage to the fetus among pregnant women. On the other hand daily consumption of alcoholic beverages, characterized as mild or moderate, can significantly reduce the risks of coronary heart disease. Moderate consumption of wine and beer, which are rich in polyphenols, seems to confer cardiovascular protective effects in healthy subjects and even in patients with reported CVD.
This Special Issue will include high-quality original research articles as well as review articles and meta-analyses addressing various aspects of the impact of alcohol on health including animal and in vitro study, molecular and clinical,aspects of alcohol on molecular, tissue and whole organism level.
Based on your expertise in this field, we think you could make an excellent contribution of either evidence-based original research or a review of relevant scientific literature.
