Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The global transition towards sustainability is driven by the urgent need to address climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation. This Special Issue, "Green Technologies and Applications", seeks to bring pioneering research and innovative developments in green technology together. It aims to provide scholars, practitioners, and policymakers with a platform to explore how cutting-edge technologies and intelligent systems can foster a sustainable future.

Topics Covered:

(1) Renewable Energy and Green Technology

Explore advancements in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydropower, and bioenergy, along with innovative green technologies that enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

(2) Green Smart Cities

Investigate the integration of green technologies into urban environments, focusing on sustainable urban planning, smart grids, eco-friendly transportation, and green building practices that contribute to the development of smart cities.

(3) Green Technologies and Applications

Discuss a broad range of green technologies and their applications across various industries, highlighting innovations that promote energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable production processes.

(4) Green Communication Systems and Networks

Examine the role of energy-efficient communication networks and systems in reducing the carbon footprint of ICT infrastructure, including strategies for green data centers, 5G networks, and energy-aware computing.

(5) Artificial Intelligence for Green IoT

Delve into how AI can optimize the Internet of Things (IoT) for sustainable applications, such as smart energy management, the predictive maintenance of renewable energy systems, and intelligent resource allocation.

(6) Applied Mathematical Modeling in Renewable Energy

Present research on the application of mathematical modeling techniques to solve complex problems in renewable energy systems, including the optimization, simulation, and analysis of energy storage and distribution.

(7) AI Application to Sustainable Technologies:

Explore how artificial intelligence can be leveraged to enhance sustainable technologies, improve efficiency in renewable energy systems, and support decision-making in environmental management.

(8) Education and Green Energy

Discuss the role of education in promoting green energy awareness, integrating sustainability into curricula, and fostering the next generation of innovators in green technology and renewable energy.

(9) Economics and Green Energy

Analyze the economic aspects of green energy, including the financial viability of renewable energy projects, economic policies that encourage green technology adoption, and the impact of green energy on global markets.

This Special Issue invites contributions that address these critical areas, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical applications in green technologies. Submissions that combine interdisciplinary approaches, propose novel solutions, or present empirical studies are highly encouraged. Through this collective effort, we hope to contribute to the global discourse on sustainability and inspire further advancements in green technology and its applications.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
