Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
This year (2022) marks the 30th anniversary of the 1992 United Nation’s Earth Summit, in which the role of transport in sustainable development was recognized. Sustainable transport requires the solid foundation of an intelligent transportation systems (ITS), for which the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, United Nations, has laid out a global vision. ITSs contribute to Sustainable Development Goals 3, 9, and 11.
A successful migration of an intelligent system comprises the following: (i) scalability: the ITS should be capable of collecting ever-growing transportation data to improve the performance and maintain the relevancy of existing models; (ii) accuracy: ITS applications can only benefit the general public if they are highly accurate, which simultaneously ensures high social acceptance; and (iii) security: the data and systems must be protected from intrusions, breaches, and threats to maintain accessibility, confidentiality, and integrity.
This Special Issue will present high-quality research on scalability, accuracy, and/or security-oriented research intelligent transportation systems, with a focus on state-of-the-art theories, methodologies, and systems for the design, development, deployment, and innovative use of artificial intelligence for applications in intelligent transportation systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
