The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) represents a transformative paradigm that promises to revolutionize transportation by connecting vehicles and infrastructure via a cohesive network. The IoV promises to improve road safety, traffic efficiency, and the overall driving experience through seamless connectivity. However, its deployment introduces vulnerabilities to security breaches, data privacy concerns, and the reliability of communication networks. To address these challenges, researchers and practitioners are pioneering novel approaches in order to fortify IoV infrastructure. Robustness is achieved through fault-tolerant communication protocols, adaptive network management, and resilient data transmission. Security measures encompass encryption, authentication, and intrusion detection systems, helping to safeguard sensitive data and thwarting cyber threats. Furthermore, the IoV's intelligence is elevated through machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, enabling predictive maintenance, traffic prediction, and intelligent routing.
This Special Issue is seeking to publish innovative solutions and cutting-edge research addressing these critical aspects of IoV communication. We invite contributions that delve into the development of resilient communication protocols, robust vehicular networks, and secure data transmission mechanisms. Furthermore, we encourage investigations into the integration of intelligent technologies, such as AI and machine learning, to optimize IoV communication, enabling vehicles to make informed decisions in real time.
Authors are invited to submit original research articles, reviews, and case studies that shed light on the multifaceted dimensions of communication in IoV. Together, we aim to advance the state of knowledge in the field and provide insights with value for creating a safer, more efficient, and interconnected vehicular environment. Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Secure architectures for IoV;
- Logically centralized and distributed strategies in IoV;
- Machine learning strategies for IoV;
- Traffic prediction in vehicular networks;
- Integration of software-defined networking (SDN) and vehicular networks.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
