Pharmacogenetics

A section of Genes (ISSN 2073-4425).

Section Information

The section “Pharmacogenetics” covers the basic and translational aspects of human genetic and genomic research in the field of precision medicine and the association of genetic and epigenetic variants with individual responses to treatments.

In particular, this section aims to publish articles that help the practical application of precision medicine by promoting the use of genetic information in clinical practice. Every aspect related to the individual response to pharmacological treatments will be considered with attention in this section. We welcome submissions that apply new and emerging technologies in the fields of pharmacogenomics, pharmacoepigenomics, and genetic profiling for the prediction of individual responses to therapies. Some of the specialty areas include, but are not limited to:

  • The impact of pharmacogenetics on drug distribution pharmacokinetics;
  • The pharmacogenetics of drug targets (pharmacodynamics);
  • Next-generation sequencing in pharmacogenomics;
  • Pharmacogenomics and minorities;
  • Pharmacogenomic regulation;
  • Drug repurposing;
  • Population genetics and pharmacogenomics;
  • Meta data and pharmacogenomics;
  • Machine learning approaches for drug administration;
  • Epigenetic changes and drug responses.
