Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the convergence of symptom science and digital health technologies has opened unprecedented avenues for enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. Symptom science focuses on understanding and managing patient symptoms, while digital health offers innovative tools for monitoring, intervention, and patient engagement.

This Special Issue aims to explore the potential synergies between symptom science and digital health. We invite original research and review articles that investigate how digital solutions can complement symptom science in predicting, monitoring, and managing symptoms. Contributions are encouraged from a range of perspectives, including clinical applications, data analytics, patient-reported outcomes, and interdisciplinary collaborations, aligning with the journal's focus on advancing comprehensive healthcare solutions.

In this Special Issue, we welcome submissions on, but not limited to, the following themes:

  • Digital interventions for symptom management in chronic diseases;
  • Applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in symptom prediction;
  • Patient engagement and self-management tools in symptom monitoring;
  • Interdisciplinary approaches combining nursing, digital health, and public health;
  • Development of wearable devices for continuous symptom tracking;
  • Telemedicine and remote health monitoring systems for real-time symptom management;
  • Personalized digital health solutions to improve patient quality of life;
  • Ethical and privacy considerations in digital health applications for symptom science.

We look forward to your contributions to further this impactful dialogue on enhancing patient care through the integration of symptom science and digital health.
