Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Physiology
A section of Journal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease (ISSN 2308-3425).
Section Information
Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular Physiology encompasses a broad area of Cardiology and is often considered the most difficult part to fully understand in terms of physiology and clinical consequences. In particular, the study of electrical phenomena preludes to the treatment of clinical arrhythmias. In the last few years, new evidence and novel technologies have facilitated the comprehensive assessment and treatment of brady- and tachy-arrhythmias. For bradyarrhythmias, we now have many treatment options including traditional pacing, leadless pacemakers and emerging conduction system pacing. For the treatment of chronic heart failure, cardiac resynchronization therapy is no longer the exclusive solution, but it is increasingly replaced by conduction system pacing as implementation or as an alternative depending on the specific case. Finally, the diagnosis and treatment of tachyarrhythmia have benefited enormously from the development of new three-dimensional mapping systems with high-density mapping techniques and with the advent of new forms of energy alternative to thermal energy such as electroporation.
Articles are welcome from a broad range of disciplines and approaches ranging from clinical cardiology to basic science. We encourage submissions from international contributors and researchers that relate to cardiac electrophysiology, new technologies, and diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias and heart failure. We strive to reach a wide audience by publishing original research, reviews, opinions, and articles on best practice and education in these and related topics.
We welcome the submission of articles reporting original research and ideas to the Journal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease (JCDD).
