Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

By definition, endoscopic surgery involves employing an optical device with a camera and light to enter the site of intervention, which can be an organ or cavity, through natural or artificial orifices, allowing for the observation of the procedure on a television monitor. Nowadays, it is without a doubt the preferred surgical technique in reproductive gynecology. After assessing the patient’s indication, open or traditional surgical techniques are only considered in certain circumstances. Gynecological endoscopy generally comes in two forms, namely laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, both classified as surgical or operative. In modern times, robotically assisted surgery has become more prevalent in endoscopy in reproduction. The following are the main benefits of endoscopic surgery: less forceful methods result in reduced bleeding and problems; shorter recovery periods after surgery and improved patient outcomes; shorter hospital stays and a faster return to work as a result; improved management of reproductive-related issues; preventing interior adhesions, which will improve the outcome of ensuing procedures for assisted reproduction; improved aesthetic outcome as a result of fewer scars—or perhaps none at all, in the case of a hysteroscopy. I invite authors to submit papers on the clinical application of endoscopy in the treatment of infertility and sterility for this Special Issue.
