Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Special Issue titled “Exploring Offshore Wind Innovation: Breakthroughs in Renewable Energy Research” aims to showcase the latest advancements in the field of offshore wind energy, an increasingly vital component of the global renewable energy portfolio. This issue will focus on novel technologies, innovative design approaches, and cutting-edge research that enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and integration of offshore wind systems.

The scope of the Special Issue encompasses a variety of topics including, but not limited to advancements in turbine technology, innovative foundation designs such as in floating wind, improvements in grid integration techniques, strategies for minimizing environmental impacts, integration of new wind energy converters in the Earth atmosphere. This issue will also explore aspects that support the deployment and scalability of offshore wind technologies. The issue will showcase unique experiments, either in the laboratory or in the field, that are key to demonstrate innovations in offshore wind and promote their usage at a commercial scale.

This Special Issue will position itself within the existing literature by building on research of recent years while pushing the boundaries of current knowledge. It aims to bridge gaps in technology and application, promoting further research and development efforts in the field of offshore wind. By compiling contemporary research efforts and breakthrough innovations, this issue will serve as a critical resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers engaged in the renewable energy sector, particularly those focused on the expansion and optimization of offshore wind.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Marine Science and Engineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
