Section Information

Aim

The Section Clinical Medicine, Cell, and Organism Physiology is open to receiving high-quality papers relevant to personalized medicine, reporting state-of-the-art advances in Clinical Medicine including Cell Physiology and Organism Physiology, as well as general physiology and that pertaining to specialized organ systems.

Scope

Topics of interest with a view toward personalized medicine include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Advances in lab diagnostics including histopathology, clinical biochemistry, hematopathology, microbiology, diagnostic cytogenetics, and diagnostic biochemical and molecular genetics;
  • Advances in point-of-care and non-invasive diagnostics applied to personalized medicine;
  • Advances in diagnostic imaging irrespective of modality or combination of modalities, including X-rays, magnetic resonance, ultrasound, nuclear medicine;
  • Artificial Intelligence applied to diagnostics and/or therapeutics;
  • Advances in morphometrics related to lab diagnostics, imaging, cell, or organ physiology applied to personalized medicine;
  • Advances in spectroscopy related to lab diagnostics, imaging, cell, or organ physiology applied to personalized medicine;
  • Cell physiology including intracellular components, cell–cell, and cell–extracellular matrix interactions;
  • Organism physiology to include neurotransmission, endocrine, ion, and biomechanical signaling, and their effects;
  • Cell and/or organism energetics and their clinical effects;
  • Applications of biomaterials to personalized medicine;
  • Cell and/or organ transplantation applied to personalized medicine;
  • Immunology diagnostics and/or therapeutics applied to personalized medicine;
  • Abiotic stresses and their effects on cell and organism physiology applied to personalized medicine;
  • Nutrition studies as applied to personalized medicine;
  • Integrative studies combining two or more of the above topics.
